Finally, some photos from our trip!

We have already taken around 800 photos and Chiquita is working hard trying to delete photos from the memory card, duplicates and bad photos. We have had a wonderful time so far and there are so many impressions, sights, people, and other things to try and melt and comprehend.

Both Chiquita and I are having a cold at the moment but we are up and about doings things anyway. We are in Brisbane with Michael and Kristina at the moment on a fully packed schedule.

The following is just a very quick sample of all the photos we have taken. Please enjoy!

Visiting the wizard of Oz

Well, not really, but yeah.

We are very bad at writing stories of our trip, but I guess it’s because we are having such a wonderful time and really can’t be bothered. But, anyway, we have been in Australia now for a while and here is what we have done (very roughly) so far.

Before Autstralia though, we spent some time with Gift and her family in Bangkok, Thailand. We had a lovely proper Thai dinner with Gift’s husband and his family. We also went to markets for shopping.

No photos will be uploaded today because we have to many to choose from, but I hope we’ll be able to do it soon (sorry).

Melbourne:
We stayed at Emma’s and went to Ocean Road, had proper ozzie bbq, went wine tasting, and all-in-all had a terrrific time.

Sydney:
Stayed in Kings Cross, looked at Opera House, Mardi Gras Parade and party, Bondi, Coogee, Manley, Blue Mountains and loads of other stuff.

Brisbane:
So far we have hung out with Kristina and Michael, had dinner at Kristina’s mums place (yummy), and seen Surfers Paradise and Jumper. We have a couple of more days here and Michael and Kristina have it all worked out.

I will upload photos later when I have the time.

Have it great!

Koh Samet

We are writing to you from the Island of Koh Samet, South of Bangkok. We have been here for 3 nights now and have 1 one more to go. After our long journey to Thailand, this has been a wonderful little break before taking on the rest of our trip. Before coming here we spent one night in Bangkok where we had just enough time to do a little sight-seeing, take a tuk-tuk ride to a mystery restaurant (we asked to go to a restaurant our hotel recommended but ended up a completely different restaurant), which luckily turned out to be a rather good one even if it was a bit of a tourist trap. We also managed a massage for a whole hour for 50 Sek per person (!) at a spa, cheap! Since arriving in Koh Samet we have enjoyed the beach, very cheap and tasty thai food and the warm and sunny weather (+30 wonderful degrees every day). We have had dinner every night at very cozy and romantic reaturants located on the beach with the table and chairs directly in the sand. As you can all imagine we are enjoying ourseleves very much!! Tomorrow we are off to Bangok to spend one night at my Thai friend Gift’s house. She has promised to show us some highlights of Bangkok, should be lots of fun! We hope to write again soon and post some picture.

It’s not really a budget trip

Chiquita “doesn’t have time” to post information here so instead I’m doing the posting of the hotels Chiquita have booked in Bangkok and Singapore. Chiquita is very thorough and picky and booking these hotels took a couple of weeks of searching and comtemplating.

Finally she settled with The Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel for our first night when we arrive in Bangkok, Rembrandt Bangkok Hotel for the last night in Bangkok efter returning from Koh Samet, and Parkroyal on Kitchener Road for our stay in Singapore. All these hotels look very nice and we think they are located in good areas close to everything.

Initially we were not going to book a hotel for our stay on Koh Samet but now we are thinking about it. We have not yet decided.
