The last week of July we spent on Öland (an island off of Sweden’s East coast) together with our friends Sofia and Mattias and their little daughter Isabella. Circumstances last Summer didn’t allow for us all to go on holiday with Sofia and Mattias, so it was great to be able to return to our yearly traditions of having a Summer holiday together. We all stayed in a house we rented together and made sure to make the most of our time discovering as much as possible of the island. We were lucky to do this in brilliant sunshine, as this week must likely offered the best weather so far this Summer. As usual I took ridiculously many pictures… especially of the children during this week (I just can’t help myself!!) and the beautiful scenery, here a selection of some of my favorites 🙂

New York, New York
New York is a hustling and bustling city! There’s obviously lots to do and see. And to think you can even cover a fraction of all you should when visiting it for such a short time as I do would be ridiculous. So, instead of running around like a pack of wild dogs we’ve been taking it rather easy and simply walked around and done things as they came along.
I’ve had a wonderful time and the conference was also really good.
We’re all alone now
We’re in Helsinborg. Noemi is staying at Vincent’s. We’re having a little party in our hotel room.

We finally made it to Holland!
Yes, I can’t believe it, right! After all these years of Chris visiting us, we have finally got our boring bums to visit him back. Well, him and Orsi that is.
I must say that Texel and the Netherlands was a really, really nice surprise. I didn’t have any expectations and perhaps that helped, but we all were really pleasantly surprised by both Chris’ Island and Holland in general (we went to Amsterdam as well).
Here are some photos from our time in Holland (yes, we were mostly in Holland even though the correct term for the entire country would be the Netherlands).
A little closer to Holland
After Fanö (see previous post) we had a sleep over in Bremen. We stayed at a one month old hotel which was super nice and located smack in the middle of the town center, between the river and the market square. We had dinner at Ratskeller, schnitzel of course!
