Jack’s all grown up

Yes, I have been extremely lazy when it comes to updating our blog. But now finally, the wait is over.

We visited Suzana, Dan och jack in Stockholm a couple of weeks ago. Dominique and her friend Lisette skipped school and tagged along, but they spent the weekend on their own.

Besides spending time with family we also visited Lina and Lena at their new place.

The Alesburys are on the web

My kid sister Anna with family left the old monarchy early September this year to seek their fortune elsewhere, and in this case elsewhere is on the green island of Éire.

They seem to have settled in OK and the day before yesterday my mother flew over for a visit. Thank God for Ryan Air, may it fly Gothenburg to Dublin forever and ever!

In order to better keep track of their lives over there I asked my sister to start a blog on which she can post short stories of what’s up and photos and stuff. I think it’s an excellent way of keeping everything in one place. Yes, I know nobody reads our blog but I like it anyway.

So without further ado I proudly present The Alesburys!

When did you last get a kick?

I’m soo excited!

Yesterday morning Chiquita told me to put my hand on her tummy and, for the first time, I felt our baby’s kick. Or headbut or whatever it was the baby did.

It felt really, really good! I actually think that that was the first time I have ever felt a baby’s kick in the tummy. But since I have the worst memory I can’t be 100 % sure. Anyway, this was the first time I felt our baby. Wonderful! And to top it off, I got to feel it again just before going to sleep last night.

Very exciting indeed!

How I spent my day alone with Vincent

Anneli and Christian dropped Vincent off at around 11 am today and then they left to do some shopping for their new house.

Vincent and I started with some lunch. Vincent had Salmon in Dill sauce which he ate pretty much without protest. Afterwards he had half a banana which really made his meal. He more or less engulfed the banana, but kept some of it in his mouth, which he then chewed on for half an hour. Bananas are for Vincent, apparently.

After lunch Vincent had a proper monster poop which reaked and filled the entire apartment. He continued to squeeze a couple of times more, so I had to wait a couple of minutes before I dared to change him. Didn’t want anything to come half way through. Yuk!

After the in-take and the out-take we got dressed and headed to the park. We have a very nice play ground here in Majorna where there are some play things and a sand box, usually filled with lots of kids. It was the same today as well.

We didn’t bring any toys with us but there were plenty laying around so we just borrowed some. Vincent really seemed to like it. He didn’t understand what to do with any of the toys though, but happily carried them around. He also ate some sand and tried his best to interact with the other children. We spent an hour at the park before heading back.

On our way to the play ground I saw a café selling pancakes with jam and whipped cream. So on our way back home we had short stop there. Vincent didn’t much care for the whipped cream and jam and had his pancake plain. I guess it’s easier for him to hold on to it that way.

When we got home I figured Vincent was going to be tired, I knew I was. But no, he kept walking around making a proper mess of everything here. Talking loudly as he whirled around. I was laying on the bed trying to get him to come and lay next to me, but no such luck.

It took around an hour of him playing around and pushinc and lifting everything that could be moved before he finally fell and started to cry. A sure sign of him being tired. I simply picked him up, put him in bed, and gave him his pacifier. I layed down next to him and he was already asleep. I fell asleep as well.

Anneli and Christian came an hour later and we had some cake and tea. Vincent was whinging a bit but once a banana was presented he was happy again.

Picking flowers at mor-mor’s

This Saturday Chiquita and I went to Falköping to go to a famous cheese buffet and Falköping Ost (the Falköping cheese factory). It was yum!

Since my grandparents live really nearby we wanted to pay them a visit as well. The weather was really beautiful and we got to pick a lovely bouquet. It was nice to see them both again. Mor-mor is still doing well, but mor-far was in pretty bad shape I reckon. He could hardly walk and was hissing if he tried. He whom I have never ever beaten in arm wrestling.
