Network technician

I was moonlighting as a network technician today! My mother in law needed help installing their new wireless router/firewall. I had never done this before and was a little apprehensive about doing it but, since I am the IT person I am I took on the task and went about it with all my expertise.

Luckily enough nothing went wrong. I connected everything and everything worked properly without any hassle. I even managed to properly configure the router/firewall with an encrypted connection password to keep unwanted people out.

So now there is a properly functioning wireless network running at my in laws house! 😀

Gail’s birthday party

We celebrated Gail this saturday. They had prepared a feast with grilled lamb and wine from Pampas, Argentina. My mother was also with us. The weather was fine, slightly chilly but the sun was out. We had some drinks and nibblies for starters, I had Bloody Mary which I like very much (plenty of tabasco in it, of course).

Christer then grilled a nice piece of lamb fillet (or perhaps lamb steak, I don’t know which one) which was absolutely delicious! We had it Argentinian style which means you drench it with garlic butter, and it was so good. It waters my mouth just writing this. With the lamb we had red wine from Pampas to further contribute to the Argentinian style.

After dinner we had a lovely swiss roll with whipped cream and raspberries. A wonderful way to top things off with.

Today is Gail’s birthday. Happy birthday Gail! :cake:

Our day off

We had a really nice day today. I couldn’t sleep any later than 8 am, which unfortunately is normal for me. It has been like that a couple of years now. I’m getting old, and old people don’t sleep long. Anyway, I got some quality time in front of the computer while Chiquita continued to snooze. Then around 10 am she opened her lovely eyes and things got into motion.

A couple of weeks ago we did a very hastily cleaning of our compartment in the basement. This we all stuck in our car and drove to the recycling center. After that we went to Frölunda Torg so that Chiquita could get some things she had put away at JC. Then we went for lunch at a Thai restaurant downtown. After lunch we went to Åhlens so that Chiquita could exchange the skirt I bought, for another size.

Getting home, and we have just been relaxing. I have programmed a little and Chiquita slept a little. Now we have just finished watching Top Gun.

A great day. Too bad I have to work tomorrow. But still, it’s just one day till the weekend!

Vincent is not happy

At first Vincent was very quiet and not making much noice but after being in my arms for a couple of seconds, he popped out the passifier and let out a cry, a cry that never really ended until Anneli took him home in the car. I guess my arms are not as good as his mother’s 😉

Chiquita’s birthday

We had cake and Cava before heading to La Sombrita. Anneli and Vincent showed up, which was wonderful. Chiquita got a skirt, and Escada perfume and beach bag from me. Gift vouchers for H&M from my mother and Anna, as well as from Dominique. She also got a very nice scale from her parents. I’m afraid to stand on it, perhaps I’ll break it.

We had a lovely dinner at La Sombrita. There were a lot of people there, even though the weather was so so. We got a nice table outside (under a roof) with heaters on – felt like being abroad. We took a couple of tapas and then the main course – I had lamb and Chiquita had some grilled skewers. It was lovely! And I got to meet my old pal Miguel!

Here are some photos of Chiquita’s wonderful day!
